₹12.5 Crore Temple Revamp Project Cleared for KolanupakaThe Telangana Government has approved a ₹12.5 crore project under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme to enhance infrastructure around the historic Kolanupaka temples in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district. The project focuses on restoring heritage structures, improving pilgrim amenities, and boosting spiritual tourism in the region. Kolanupaka, known for its thousand-year-old Someshwara and Jain temples, is set to become a key cultural and religious destination with modernized pathways, lighting, drinking water facilities, and a beautified temple complex. Authorities have also proposed the development of parking zones, seating areas, and eco-friendly landscaping.
Focus on Heritage and Tourism Boost
With this initiative, the government aims to attract more tourists while preserving the historical and architectural significance of the temples. Officials confirmed that tender processes and planning are underway, with work expected to begin soon and complete in a phased manner.
