Southern India’s Next Big Leap – Zaheerabad Industrial City

Zaheerabad, Telangana – The Central Government has announced a major industrial development plan that will turn Zaheerabad into a high-speed growth corridor for South India. Under the Defense Industrial Corridor and Industrial City Project, a modern industrial township will be built in Zaheerabad, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Project Highlights:

• * Total Area: 12,500 acres (to be developed in two phases)
• * Phase 1: Development to begin on 3,245 acres
• * Estimated Project Cost: ₹5,236 crores
• * Expected Investment Potential: Over ₹10,000 crores

This mega project is expected to generate:

• * 10 lakh (1 million) direct jobs
• * 30 lakh (3 million) indirect jobs

Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, stated that the location—close to the Telangana-Karnataka border—will boost industrial development in both states. The project will cover 17 villages in the Nyalkal and Raikode Mandals.

Strategic Location:

• * 65 km from Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road (ORR)
• * 10 km from the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR)
• * 125 km from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport,Hyderabad

The government has already completed key formalities like:

• * Environmental clearances
• * Land acquisition for 3,100 acres for Phase 1
• * Shareholder and state support agreements

Industries Planned for the Park:

• * Automobile and EV manufacturing
• * Transport and engineering equipment
• * Electrical and electronic machinery
• * Metal and non-metal minerals
• * Food processing and agro-tech units

This project is backed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. G. Kishan Reddy thanked both leaders for their support in fast-tracking the approval and funding.

Additional Support for Farmers:

In another key announcement, the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF) has been expanded. New funds will now be available to:

• * Farmer groups and cooperatives
• * Promote solar-based energy projects like PM-KUSUM
• * Support green fuel production and rural infrastructure
